Hey everyone, Umer here!
When it comes to building a successful business, the road is rarely a straight line. Deanne Kelleher’s journey proves that sometimes, the path to success is a little messy, but it’s also filled with growth, learning, and finding ways to simplify the chaos.
From her early passion for organization to launching KAOS Group and writing a book on optimizing business processes, Deanne has built a career around helping others streamline their workflows and find clarity in the midst of complexity.
Our conversation on The Path We Choose was packed with insights, and I couldn’t wait to share what I learned:
Know Your Cash Flow
Deanne emphasized, “A lot of people focus on top-line revenue but don’t really know what their profit margins are.” Regularly track your cash flow and ensure you’re not just focusing on revenue. Understand where your money’s going, and make smarter financial decisions.
Build Custom Systems
Assess your current processes and design systems that align with your business needs,“Once you have a solid system, you can scale,” said Deanne. Custom solutions will make growth easier.
Document Everything
Start documenting your processes and workflows. Deanne reminds us, “Your head is not for holding things.” Use tools like checklists and project management systems to track tasks and decisions.
Make Small Improvements
Focus on small, incremental changes every day. Over time, they’ll lead to significant improvements in your business. “It’s like when you want to build muscle at the gym. Small, consistent efforts pay off,” this is how she put it.
Use Tech to Enhance, Not Replace
Deanne said something about Tech, “Tech should enhance human effort, not replace it.” This stuck with me. Use AI and automation to streamline repetitive tasks, but focus on maintaining strong relationships and personalized service.
This conversation with Deanne reinforced the importance of strong systems, documentation, and empowering your team. If this resonated with you, the full episode dives deeper into how to organize, optimize, and profit in your business.
